With around 180 employees at present, the call centre supports the Bundesdruckerei Group’s products and services. In addition, Inco also offers scanning services, OCR recognition and data capture.

Scanning Documents and Digitising Them for the Future

In order to digitise information, paper documents are converted into a digital format using a scanning process and then saved. Inco has state-of-the-art, high-performance scanners that can digitise colour, greyscale and black/white documents at high resolution. With our innovative, non-contact scanning technology, we also offer secure digitisation of sensitive document types such as historical archives or library and museum collections. We will also be glad to assist you with any specific wishes and individual requirements you may have.

OCR Data Capture

Optical character recognition (OCR) is a technology used for automatically recognising text in digital documents. Using OCR technology, we digitise graphic documents, including images, PDFs, and scanned paper, enabling the conversion of text into machine-readable data.  

Our state-of-the-art recognition and capture systems enable the precise reproduction of scanned information in digital form without time-consuming typing. Paper documents are transformed into digitally editable and searchable files. We also use other technologies to extract content from different types of documents and digitise them in the best possible way. These include intelligent character recognition (ICR) for handwriting, optical mark recognition (OMR) for fields in forms and questionnaires, and optical barcode recognition (OCB) for barcodes.

Indexing and Categorisation

If documents are being digitised for the first time, the information contained in the files should be categorised in a follow-up step for better digital organisation. Indexing is used to assign descriptive keywords or information to the files, such as from the forms read out, which match the content of the document. Whether and how readily a document can later be found in a system or archive will depend on the quality of the indexing. 

We provide our customers with comprehensive and high-quality document indexing and categorisation. Your scanned documents will be available digitised, categorised and in your preferred output file format.

For particularly high-quality scans, we offer OCR capture with additional manual correction on request. Using this combined method, documents can be digitised with an accuracy of up to 99.95%. This corresponds to less than 1 error per 2,000 characters. We create error-free documents with up to 100% accuracy in predefined areas or metadata.
