Document scanning and digitisation for the future
To digitise information, paper documents are converted to digital format using a scanning process, and then saved. Inco has state-of-the-art, high-performance scanners that can digitise colour, grey and black-and-white documents at high resolution. With our innovative, non-contact scanning technology, we also offer secure digitisation of sensitive documents, such as historical archives or library and museum collections. We are also happy to help with specific requests and individual requirements.
OCR
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology for automatic recognition of text in digital documents. Using OCR, digitised documents in graphic form, such as images, PDF files and scanned paper documents can be converted into text and machine-readable data.
Our state-of-the-art recognition and recording systems allow for precise reproduction of scanned information in digital form without time-consuming typing. Paper documents are converted into digital files that can be edited and searched. We use other technologies to extract content from different types of documents and digitise them in the best possible way. These include Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) for handwriting recognition, Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) for recognising fields in forms and questionnaires, and Optical Barcode Recognition (OCB) for recognising barcodes.


Indexing and categorisation
If the documents are being digitised for the first time, the information contained in the files should be categorised in the next step to better organise the digital files. Indexing is used to assign keywords or information to files, for example, from read forms that match the content of a document. Whether and how to find a document in a system or archive depends on the quality of indexing.
We offer our clients comprehensive, high-quality indexing and categorisation of documents. We provide scanned documents in digitised, categorised form and in an established output format.

If you expect particularly high quality of the extracted texts, we offer OCR with additional manual correction on request. With this combined method, documents can be digitised with up to 99.95% accuracy. This corresponds to less than 1 error per 2000 characters. We create error-free documents with up to 100% correctness in predefined areas or metadata.
